The original Hydra was designed to experiment and explore the role of pressure in espresso extraction. Mark Barnett, designer and founder of Synesso, redesigned the water supply system by adding separate pumps and motors to each group to make each group its own self-contained brewing system. This meant constant pressure on every band, even in the loudest environment.

Building on the many tools provided by Synesso, the MVP Hydra provides even more ways to simultaneously increase the control and repeatability of your espresso preparation.

In addition to versatile group heads with variable brewing modes, 6 program positions per group, new standard timer displays and water count control, the MVP Hydra provides the ability to fine-tune your coffee recipes on an even deeper level.

Features of Synesso MVP Hydra

The MVP Hydra comes standard with a unique bypass system that offers 4 programmable stages of pressure profiling: pre-infusion, pressure boost, full pressure (9 bar extraction) and pressure drop.

You can set these stages to maximize the acids, sugars and texture of your coffee. Using these stages allows much better control of the espresso shot and allows the user to get the most out of any particular roast profile.

Now, with MVP technology, you can refine all your recipes with manual control, save them in any available program position, and run them for as long as you want. If small changes are needed, you have the ability to fine-tune any setting on the wired controller.
